MEET THE MANAGER

Simeon Care

I’m Michelle, I am General Manager at Simeon.

I have worked in care for many years now, having started out as a cook in a care home when I was 18 years old, I found I loved helping and caring for others.

I worked hard to develop my skills and experience, gained a degree, joined the Local Authority where I worked in social work for 15 years until I joined Simeon Care 3 years ago. I gained invaluable experience within the local authority, working closely with care management, care inspectorate, training and development, planning & projects team and as a care home manager.

Being a care home manager isn’t just a job or career it is a lifestyle. A place where you spend time second guessing many decisions, always looking for better, striving to be the best I can be, whilst encouraging others to do the same. Each day is the same, yet different, watching people gain some independence, whilst others are cheering them on. I enjoy leading a team who want to care, share, and laugh, it’s that feeling of being part of something special.

Out with work, I enjoy running and cycling, I have completed many triathlons, half marathons and 10k races. Not including cycling across California for Cash for Kids. To support Simeon’s ethos, I will bike to and from work, anything to help protect our plant. Finally, I am almost a black belt in Kido Mu Sool, I will be testing for my black belt at national competition in 2025...
