Meet The Team

Generous staffing levels and commitment to training means there is time and skills to provide excellent person-centered care.

Our staff build positive, meaningful relationships with residents and we aim to provide all older people with security, continuity, belonging, purpose, and fulfilment.

Our team is led by General Manager - Michelle Riddock, and Deputy Manager - Chris Hatton.

We have a team of highly qualified Registered nurses and care staff to support residents and their families in all areas.

We are also very lucky to have an International Volunteers who come from all over the world for a period of 6-12 months to support our residents and experience life in a Camphill community.

Additionally, we have Volunteer Befrienders, generally from the local area who love to come and spend time at Simeon. Our befrienders provide companionship, support, and assist residents to join in activities.

All employees have full PVG checks and registered with Scottish Social Service Council.

Michelle - General Manager

Michelle has worked in care for many years now, having started out as a cook in a care home when she was 18 years old, Michelle found that she loved helping and caring for others.

Michelle worked hard to develop her skills and experience, gained a degree, joined the Local Authority where she worked in social work for 15 years until she joined Simeon Care 3 years ago. Michelle gained invaluable experience within the local authority, working closely with care management, care inspectorate, training and development, planning & projects team and as a care home manager.

Out with work, Michelle enjoys running and cycling, She has completed many triathlons, half marathons and 10k races. Not including cycling across California for Cash for Kids.

Jillian Birnie - Home Administrator

Jillian is our Home Administrator. She joined Simeon in July 2023 and enjoys supporting residents, their families, and staff.

Jillian worked in a Care Home prior to joining Simeon, and has a broad administrative background, mainly in the Oil & Gas sector carrying out roles in HR, logistics, planning, and training.

In her free time, she spends time with her two children, and two dogs, enjoying long walks around Aberdeenshire.

Chris Hatton - Senior Nurse & Deputy Manager

Chris is both Senior Nurse and Deputy Manager at Simeon Care and has been here since 2015.

Chris has extensive experience in both the Public and Private healthcare sectors in Aberdeen and other parts of the country.

Chris is a trained mental health nurse and has lived and worked in Scotland for many years.

Kate Wnuck- Lipinska - Finance Administrator

Kate began working as Finance Administrator at Simeon Care in November 2021 bringing with her skills from her previous roles in administration and the care sector.

Kate holds BA degree in Accounting and Finance from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

Kate is a mum of two boys. She moved from Poland to Scotland in 2015.

In her free time Kate enjoys spending quality time with her children, hiking and discovering the beauty of Scotland.

Oriel Cooper – Activities Leader

Oriel joined Simeon in August 2023 and see her role as Activities Leader as a privilege. She loves supporting residents in daily life and providing meaningful activities to promote the wellbeing of the residents.

Oriel has a background in Art and Design, as well as community education, having worked in various projects including Drug & Alcohol rehab, summer camps, interdenominational church groups, and tutoring English as a second language.

Oriel loves the outdoors and being in her garden is her ‘happy place”.
