With your support, we can ensure that more families can be together during the end of life, surrounded by love and community.
Help us ensure no one waits for the care they need and deserve
Aberdeen City and Shire is facing a crisis amongst its ageing population.
Regional care infrastructure is under strain with delayed social care assessments, and gaps in service delivery, resulting in significant unmet needs.
Older people are losing precious time waiting for the care they deserve, with some people spending their final months in hospital or at home without the expert care, comfort, and dignity they need and deserve.
Simeon’s sector-leading nursing and palliative care currently supports 23 residents, but the home is at full capacity, and demand continues to grow.

Together, we can welcome more residents to our Simeon community, ensuring that more older people have access to the care they deserve.
Increasing our community of care
Exciting work is underway to enable us to increase the number of older people we support by over 90%. The construction of a new facility will create a place where more people can live with positivity, dignity, purpose, and compassion, in a place where they feel safe, known, and at home.
Our new facility will include 18 ensuite, ground-floor bedrooms, each with direct access to our redeveloped dementia-friendly garden. The build will increase capacity - helping ensure more people receive the care they deserve. It will also increase the number of local authority funded places.
We have the land, permissions, skills and commitment to build these new facilities, but we need financial support to make our vision a reality.

We need your help
We have secured over 70% of the project costs, but we need your help to fund the remaining £2 million. Every room added at Simeon means another older person can live in a community of care, and when the time comes, another family can be together during the end of life.
The new facility will stand as a beacon of hope and excellence in later life care, and show that ageing can be full of meaning, purpose, and happiness.

The new-build will ensure that every resident has direct access from their bedroom to the dementia friendly garden.
